She's getting some tough, tough questioning in this confirmation hearing. In depth, probing legal questions like 'do your eyes twinkle?' Ok, not exactly that but pretty close. Close enough to have Glenn play 'Hot for Teacher' under the ridiculous questioning -- and it actually fits. Looks like the wise Latina Sotomayor will breeze on in to the highest court in the land. 912er for Senate?
Dr. Rand Paul, son of Congressman Ron Paul, announced his run for Senator (KY) yesterday. Paul, the first to sign the 912 candidate contract, talked with Glenn in hour 3 of the program today in sort of a getting to know you interview. What does the younger Paul believe and where does he stand on the issues? Check out the interview here. ( Transcript, Insider Audio)
Town Halls turning feisty
Steny Hoyer gets confronted by a man claiming to be a registered democrat about the healthcare issue at a town hall event. The man is clearly frustrated with Hoyer -- who in typical politician fashion keeps on his happy face and motors on through. Seemingly incapable of conversing with one of his loyal subjects, the man just unloads, calling Hoyer a 'liar' and lashes out at the President for rushing healthcare -- but he took six months to decide which dog to get for his kids. Watch the argument HERE.
Stu in Drag
The Obama administration got very upset and defensive when Drudge had the audacity to release an unedited video of Obama speaking. Perhaps they should have been a little more upset at Obama for what he said -- but the truth is the President wants a single payer system. It's not a mistake he said it, but the White House was on spin patrol. Thankfully, Stu (dressed as Linda Douglass to improve credibility) was on the scene to be the dis-disinformation czar and refute her ridiculous claims. Even if you don't care about this story at all, you should watch the segment just to see Stu dressed as a woman. ( WATCH)
Which state is the worst?
A non-partisan watchdog group conducted a study of all 50 states to find out which ones were the most transparent in tracking the stimulus money they received. Part of President Obama's most transparent government plan included the states keeping tabs on all the money. How is that working out? Not too well, as you can imagine. So bad in fact, one state managed to score a 'zero' on a scale of 1-100. Any takers on which state it is? Glenn explains in his latest video blog 'Beck Talks' episode. WATCH
