Never Forget

As each year passes and we get further and further away from September 11th, 2001 it seems more and more people become, as Glenn says, '9/10' people. That is to say, we've gone back to our old ways and lost the unity and resolve that America shared during the days following the tragic attacks. One important way to keep that resolve alive, and to help remember that despite all of the partisan bickering we are all on the same team, the American team, is to play the audio. Available for every newsletter subscriber today is some of the most amazing audio you will ever hear -- Glenn introduces a montage of the events and sounds of the single worst day in modern American history. Never forget. Read the transcript. Free Audio: Listen here.

Glenn counts himself a very, very lucky man because he often gets to speak with real American heroes. Many times, these heroes will give Glenn a token of their appreciation for him (typical of a hero, thanking someone else for doing something even though it is they who have given everything). One of those items that Glenn holds near and dear to his heart is a flag that flew at the World Trade Center. In the center of that flag was something else that was given to him--two little black pins. One was given to those who searched the rubble of the WTC and another pin that is a little black rectangle that says WTC. It's what police officers in New York City wear if they were on duty on 9/11. Glenn gave a speech just before July 4th and as he was leaving his home he somehow he noticed that pin out of the corner of his eye, and for the first time ever he took it out and put it on. The speech Glenn had planned suddenly got tossed out the window and was going in a different direction. He grabbed the pin for a reason---watch the speech here and find out why.

Matt Damon humiliates himself

Sure, Matt Damon is a good actor and everything, but he is also a complete idiot. In a recent interview he slammed Sarah Palin and said her story was like a 'bad disney movie'. Damon can't believe that someone with 2 years experience as a Governor could be considered as a Vice Presidential candidate. It's an especially stupid considering Matt Damon himself decided to endorse Barack Obama on December 19th -- 2006. He did so live on the Chris Matthews 'chill up my leg' program, and at that time Barack Obama had spent less than 2 years in the Senate. Perhaps you are blurring the lines between your real life and your amnesia stricken character Jason Bourne? It's the only possible explanation for this level of stupidity. Read the transcript. Olbermann advising Obama?

We documented it yesterday that what Keith Olbermann says, Obama is now doing. Check out this segment where Olbermann asks Obama why he doesn't get angry more -- and then how does Obama respond to the lipstick gaffe? With an angry 'enough!' lashing at the media and John McCain. Glenn explains how this -- and comments like the ridiculous 'Obama is like Jesus and Pontus Pilate was a Governor' by Congressman Steve Cohen is only serving to unite the GOP behind their candidates and make the Democrats against something. Why is this dynamic important? Glenn explains. Read the transcript. Insiders listen here.
