Glenn plays a little bit of a speech he delivered to Liberty University recently, this time it's a little different as it's set to music. But the message of the 'controversial' speech is clear: the solution is Common Sense. Check out the segment from radio today.
The real people behind the movie The Blind Side are in studio...
Glenn interviews Sgt. James 'Eddie' Wright who lost both arms while serving in Iraq, but thanks to the Helping a Hero organization, they can come home to a new, specially adapted home for service members.
As if the federal government has nothing better to do, they decided to spend time and resources putting together some handy tips on how to be a better dad.
by Bruce Feiler - Two years ago, I asked six friends to form a “Council of Dads” to be father figures for my three-year-old identical twin daughters. The men ranged from my oldest friend to my college roommate to my closest confidant, and I asked each of them to teach a different thing to my girls – how to live, how to think, how to travel, how to dream.
Best selling author Brad Meltzer calls into the program to talk about his book 'Heroes for my Son', a wonderful book of stories about positive role models from history. Glenn talks with Brad on radio today about the desperate need for positive examples to follow and how the book can help encourage kids to actually like the Founding Fathers.

Glenn also spoke today with author Bruce Feiler about his new book, The Council of Dads. The book features the journey Bruce embarked on to make sure his kids would know who he was, when suddenly it took him in a completely different direction.
What Lessons Would You Leave Your Children?
Shonda Schilling, the wife of former Major League Baseball start pitcher Curt Schilling, has penned a new book called The Best Kind of Different. Glenn interview sports stars is always dicey, because he knows absolutely nothing about sports - fortunately this book has much more to do with families than sports. The book tells the story of their son’s Asperger’s Syndrome, how it changed their lives, and what other parents can learn about this increasingly common diagnosis.
Apparently these days it's controversial to do an ad giving thanks your son is alive. That was the case with the much anticipated Tim Tebow commercial, in which his Mom talked about her decision to choose life. This had the pro-abortion groups screaming to the mountains to stop this ad. What happened to pro 'choice'? Seems like the only choice pro-'choice' groups care about is abortion.
Today on radio Glenn talks about his trip to go buy a Christmas tree this weekend. So long as you aren't living in some bizarre world where needles and tree sap is your idea of a good time, this was probably your weekend. Freezing your butt off, pathetically attempting to saw down a tree, getting covered in sap, and then getting yelled at as the tree (no matter how it is positioned) never looks good enough. This one is for all of you men out there who long for owning a fake Christmas tree.
#1 New York Times bestselling author Richard Paul Evans, the “King of Christmas” and author of the blockbuster novel “The Christmas Box” (it sold 8 million copies!) joined Glenn today to talk about his latest book “The Christmas List.”
It's that time of year again, when people are a nice for a few weeks before they go back to being rude, selfish and obnoxious. Glenn talks with Jason Wright, author of Christmas Jars, one of the classic and most touching books you will read this holiday.
Glenn Beck's The Christmas Sweater: A Picture Book is now available.
Glenn is very excited to release the children's version of The Christmas Sweater -- the touching story of a boy who discovers what it means to get the perfect gift. A wonderful read -- and as an added bonus...no liberal indoctrination! Only the good kind of indoctrination in this one.
Governor Mark Sanford of South Carolina admitted to having cheated on his wife. The affair was with a woman from Argentina, which doomed this relationship from the start. Really, how stupid do you have to be not only to cheat on your wife -- but to pick someone from Argentina?
Proof positive that our politicians are not only arrogant and corrupt, they are total morons. Governor Sanford should have taken the advice of Michael Chertoff and John Ashcroft -- never use email. Not only has the Governor admitted to a humiliating affair --- we get to read all of his pathetic attempts at romance. He even quotes the Bible during one of his love letters...to his mistress.
A caller from West Virginia (insert joke in a moment) called in an attempt to defend marriages with wide age gaps. This turned out to be extremely counterproductive, as with each fact he revealed about his relationship -- things got more and more disturbing.
Glenn opened the line today for those struggling because they listen to and watch The Glenn Beck Program. Yes, Glenn has been trying to warn you about the tough times ahead...yes Glenn makes a lot of sense when he explains things. But has it been going well for the listeners who then take that message and try to explain it to their spouse? Callers who have been deemed 'crazy' because of their association with Glenn call in to vent.
She went to the turkey baster people---she had 8 put into her and decided not to 'selectively abort' any of them once she found out all 8 planted. One little problem---this woman is poor, single and already had 6 kids, bringing her total to 14 kids. Glenn is somewhat torn on this one because hey, you should be able to have the kids you want---BUT---don't do it on my dime. What's Glenn's solution?

It's one of those stories that just has no good people in it. None of them are particularly evil, just a bit greedy and vengeful.
Just about all of our parents said this at one time or another before they spanked us: 'this will hurt me more than it's going to hurt you'. Of course we didn't believe it, especially not when we couldn't sit down for a week. Glenn found out first hand that the old saying is actually true---he was up all night after he had to spank one of his kids for the first time ever.
A Colorado elementary school has decided to ban the popular playground game 'tag' because kids were being 'chased'. Isn't that the whole point of the game? Glenn is worried about the generation of kids we are raising if they are being taught that they cannot play tag because it causes to much 'conflict'. Will we have anyone capable of defending our country in 20 years?
