Finger is always right on the pulse of what Americans care about - so it was particularly shocking to Glenn as he browsed through the Drudge front page today and saw stories that were all disturbing in their own respect. But when they are tied together it's much, much worse.

The Center for American Progress is a progressive organization that loves big government, so it was a surprise to see that they actually had a section devoted to finding areas in education that could actually be cut. But, their motive becomes apparent when the list of cuts are revealed. 'Niche' programs on outdated topics like 'The United States Constitution' and 'American History' are on the chopping block. Gee, why wouldn't progressives be in favor of those?

Government has completely lost touch with common sense.

$26.1 billion dollars this time to (allegedly) save teachers jobs all across America - a bill that came at the expense of cutting food stamps. Glenn wonders what the political strategy is on this bill, considering Gibbs came out yesterday and took a jab at the far left - the same day they cut food stamps.

Once thought a quality source of news is now seemingly dumpster diving for stories, as evidenced by headlines like 'Primary night yields good news for Obama, Dems' making the cut. Of course it was a good night for democrats - in the democratic primaries. Politico has not reported it, but rumor has it that republicans had a decent night as well.
