Glenn talks with radio host Jay Severin, who was in the room with Scott Brown when he received word of victory and when he got the call from Barack Obama. Kudos to Brown who asked Obama if it was ok to bring the pickup truck to D.C. - and obvious slam on Obama's failed elitist attempts to make fun of people with pickup trucks. Glenn gets more insight from Jay on radio this morning.
Those two words don't exactly go together, and believe it or not America actually has a Government Accountability Office. It's believed they play ping pong most of the day but that's just a rumor - Glenn talks with the former head of the GAO, David Walker, who always brings great insights to the true financial stability of our country.
Host of Mad Money Jim Cramer joined the program today to talk about the topic of his new book - Getting Back to Even. Many people are used to earning big profits on investments and are disappointed when yields aren't high. But, getting back to even isn't always a bad thing. Cramer talks with Glenn on radio this morning about that and other topics, such as the Massachusetts election.
When it comes to genetically modifying food and humans which, according to Glenn, "so far there are about 50 sheep that have partially human livers, hearts and brains' and it 'creeps' Glenn out even though he is 'all for science'. One of Glenn's favorite writers who tackles subjects such as these is James Rollins, who talked with Glenn about his latest novel 'Altar of Eden' on today's radio program.
Oh, what's the big deal - so the White House official who is overseeing the weatherizing aspects funded by the stimulus chose the little known window company her husband just happens to work at. Conflict of interest? Noooooooo way. Nothing to see here folks, move along, move along. Unfortunately for the White House, John Stossel did NOT move along and he uncovered the shameless connection. Stossel and Glenn talked about it on radio this morning.
In what is shaping up to be a battle between a tea party type conservative against a progressive type republican, Marco Rubio is setting his sights on the United States Senate against Charlie Crist. Glenn talks with Rubio on radio this morning to get an idea on where he stands on the issues and if he's the kind of candidate who won't sell his soul as soon as he gets to Washington.
The 2500 page Omnibus bill is expected to pass this week, and it's nothing more than yet another spending fiesta. Things like $17 million for Ireland and $1,948,000 to the Fish Lake Trail completion in the State of Washington. All worthy causes -- that someone else besides taxpayers should spend money on. Glenn talks with Congressman Jason Chaffetz from Utah about his battle against wasteful spending.
John Stossel on hypocrisy in Copenhagen.
One half of the brilliant minds behind SuperFreakonomics joined the radio program today to talk about a new book which goes over many issues - including Global Warming. Stephen Dubner, journalist, talked about the subtitle that jumped out at Glenn: 'Global Cooling, Patriotic Prostitutes, and why suicide bombers should buy life insurance', and what to do about solving global warming.
The latest with the four Navy Seals being tried because they slapped around a terrorist. A terrorist who murdered American contractors in Iraq and dragged their dead bodies through the streets. Glenn talks with retired Seal Marcus Luttrell, who says he'd rather be 'killed over there' than be in the courts over here. What punishment should the Seals get, if any?
#1 New York Times bestselling author Richard Paul Evans, the “King of Christmas” and author of the blockbuster novel “The Christmas Box” (it sold 8 million copies!) joined Glenn today to talk about his latest book “The Christmas List.”
If you are not familiar with that slogan, it's the old rally cry of Communists around the globe. Of course, it's the current rallying cry of the SEIU president Andy Stern who said it and didn't shy away from it. To make matters worse, this is a union that the President is closely associated with as Stern has visited the White House the most of anyone else on record. Glenn talks with Scott Baker about the latest with the commie union.
Marcus Luttrell, the Lone Survivor, spoke with Glenn on radio today to talk about the Navy Seals who were court martial'd for giving a high level terrorist a fat lip. You don't have to be a scholar to figure out that Marcus isn't too sympathetic to the plight of the terrorist, but there was one thing that Marcus and Glenn disagreed on. What was it?
It's that time of year again, when people are a nice for a few weeks before they go back to being rude, selfish and obnoxious. Glenn talks with Jason Wright, author of Christmas Jars, one of the classic and most touching books you will read this holiday.
Few books come across Glenn's desk that are so powerful, they stay with him for a long time. Glenn says only three have made that kind of an impact. One of the three is America's Prophet. Glenn describes it as 'the most powerfully written history book' he's read in a long, long time. He spoke with the author of the book is Bruce Feiler and he joined Glenn on radio this morning.
