GLENN: So Barney Frank has come out and he's got some amazing new things to say. He is going to pretty much destroy the free market system. He is acting as the ultimate consumer. The invisible hand is now the hand of Barney Frank. Weil give you that coming up in a little while. Also there is a brand‑new poll out on Doug Hoffman. You know, he's the, "Don't throw your vote away on that guy" guy. He is ‑‑ this is fascinating to me. There is a new poll now finding that Hoffman is leading both the Republican and the Democrat. He leads 31 Owens the Democrat with 27 and Scozzafava ‑‑
PAT: Yeah, it's DeDe Scozzafava.
GLENN: Scozzafava is now with 20%. So 11 points behind the independent.
PAT: Proof again if you're going to be a Democrat, why not just vote for the ‑‑
GLENN: If you are going to be a Democrat, be a Democrat. If you are going to be a progressive, be a progressive.
PAT: Yeah.
GLENN: You know what? Barney Frank at least is out there saying exactly what he is. Bernie Sanders says what he is.
PAT: It's like, you know, if you are going to get a ‑‑ if an Armani and an Armani knockoff are the same price, you are going to get an Armani.
GLENN: Right.
PAT: Who cares.
GLENN: Right. Especially when we are talking about the price of these suits.
PAT: Yeah.
GLENN: They are very expensive. You know, I think if Hoffman wins, I don't expect him ‑‑ well, I don't know. I don't know. You know ‑‑
PAT: It's a blow to Newt Gingrich if he does.
GLENN: It's a blow to everybody.
PAT: Yeah.
GLENN: It's a blow to everybody. It should be a real eye‑opener if he wins, to the Republicans. The Republicans still won't get it. The Republicans are too beholden to special interests. They are too beholden to big business. Look, big business, you know, I was thinking about this today. How do you actually win an election without the big businesses, without the giant ‑‑ how do you win against Barack Obama with all of that union money and everything? If you allow him to get this strong over the next three years, how do you possibly raise enough money to win?
