Glenn Beck's Common Sense
Now available in book stores nationwide...

VOICE: And now another scenario in which common sense was clearly not applied.

GLENN: Well, when it comes to the issue of abortion or should I say, I'm sorry, pro choice, they don't come get any more liberal than Barack Obama. He was the only Illinois to be opposed to the March 2001 bill that would have protected babies who survived botched abortions. So in other words, babies born survived the abortion and Barack Obama after the birth is like, "Yeah, let's go ahead and let her die anyway." Wow. Well, that's a choice. What did you say, Stu?

STU: That's progressive.

GLENN: And we know how he feels about teenagers getting pregnant. He says this.

PRESIDENT OBAMA: I don't want them punished with a baby.

GLENN: He doesn't want them punished with a baby.

PRESIDENT OBAMA: Baby.

GLENN: How would you punish them with a baby? Of course, to be consistent with the, "Hey, it's your choice" position, you would also have to believe that a baby is not a life until, well, in Obama's case it seems if you ‑‑ well, you have to wait until after the abortion procedure and then I don't know is it four minutes, four hours, four days, four months, I don't know. But sometime after the birth you would become a baby or a person. The 2008 Democratic Compassion Forum ‑‑ hang on just a second. I think I'm going to vomit just a little in my mouth. Okay, did it. The compassion forum, President Obama said when asked about life and when it begins, quote: This is something I have come to a full resolution on. I think it's very hard to know what it means when life begins. Is it when a cell separates? Is it when a soul stirs? I don't presume to know the answer to that question. Remember this question was above his pay grade. However now he's a little confused on the issue. Here's what President Obama has said in his Father's Day piece for Parade magazine. Quote: That is why we need fathers to step up and realize that their job does not end at conception. Their job does not end at conception and what makes you a man is not the ability to have a child but the courage to raise one. You might ask, how can conception mean anything when you are okay with a woman choosing to dispose of that cell? Especially when that cell has been growing in the womb for eight months, 30 days, 23 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds? I'm just sayin'. But wait. Let's apply common sense first. Here's the quote again: That is why we need fathers to step up and realize that their job does not end at conception. Hmmm. Mr. President, if the baby is not a baby at conception, how can a father be a father at conception? It's a brainteaser, I know. I know, oh, I know. It's probably a little above your pay grade but let me know if you get a raise and can figure that one out.
